Hirsch Identive’s Scott Chillemi Earns SIA Chairman of the Year Award
Santa Ana, Calif., November 28, 2011 – Hirsch Identive, a leading provider of integrated security and identity management systems, is proud to announce that Scott Chillemi, Technical Training and Publications Manager, is the recipient of the 2011 Security Industry Association (SIA) Chairman of the Year Award.
Respected industry-wide, Chillemi’s strategic and visionary leadership made him a clear choice for this prestigious award. A 20-year veteran in corporate training, Chillemi has served as SIA Education Committee Chairman since 2007. Under his leadership SIA has developed and strengthened educational initiatives, programs and partnerships. For example, a partnership between the SIA and the International Security Conference (ISC) organization ensures high-quality educational seminars and training for SIA’s members at ISC events. Chillemi recently conducted a pivotal field study involving 450 security project managers. The effort provided valuable data currently used to redevelop the Certified Security Project Manager program. “I’m very proud to be a member of the security industry, and I appreciate the opportunity to contribute to it,” says Chillemi.
“Education at the industry level adds value to partners, channel members, and suppliers,” explains Chillemi. “Keeping the curriculum current and relevant to industry trends is critical to the program’s success.” SIA features exceptionally skilled and knowledgeable presenters and promotes notably high standards on material and subject matter at its conventions, courses and training channels. Symposium participants receive the most advanced industry information, helping them become better-versed and better-equipped to meet the challenges of their career fields. “The award is a testament to the solid work from all committee members and everyone’s involvement with the SIA educational programs,” adds Chillemi. His leadership positions the commission to build on its successes and truly become the “go to” destination for security industry knowledge.
